  1. Delete Prefetch & Junk Files:
  • Click on “Start”.
  • Click on “RUN”.
  • Type in “prefetch” and hit ok.
  • A new window will be open, press “Ctrl + A” to select all and delete all the files by pressing “Shift + Delete”. (If it asks for permission, allow it to delete all prefetch files.)
  1. Delete Temporary Files:
  • Click on “Start”.
  • Click on “RUN”.
  • Type in “%temp%” and hit ok.
  • A new window will be open with large of temporary files, press “Ctrl + A” to select all and delete all the files by pressing “Shift + Delete”. (Some files won’t allow us to delete, just skip them.)

  • Click on “Start”.
  • Click on “RUN”.

  • Right click on your desktop.
  • Click on “Personalize”.
  • Click on “Screensaver”. (Bottom right corner).
  • A new window will be open, Select “None” and Click Apply and OK.
  1. Disable Visual Effects:
  • Double click on “My Computer”.
  • Right click on “My Computer” at left and Click on “Properties”.
  • A new window will be open, Click on “Advanced system settings”.
  • A new window will be open, Click on “settings” in Performance tab.
  • Again a new window will be open, now Circle on “Adjust for best performance”.
  • Click Apply then OK.

  1. Disable Startup Programs:
  • Click on “Start”.
  • Click on “RUN”.
  • Type in “Msconfig” and hit ok.
  • Click on “Startup” Tab.
  • Now Disable the program which you don’t want to start by unchecks them.
  • Click Apply.
  • After it Click on “Boot” tab.
  • Click on “Advanced Options”.
  • Tick the “Number of Processors” and select the maximum number from drop down list.
  • Click on OK, Click on Apply then OK.
  1. Clean up your Hard Drive:
  • Open “My Computer” and Right Click on “Local Disk (C:).
  • A new window will be open, Click on “Disk Cleanup”.
  • Wait few times while it analyzes your hard drive.
  • After the analyzes complete, a new window will be open, Now Tick the all options in this window and Click OK.
  • A new window will be open asking for permission to Delete Files, Click on “Delete Files”.
  • Wait few times while it Cleanup your Disk.
  1. Changing folder settings:
  • Open “My Computer” and click on “Organize” at the left top corner.
  • Select the “Folder and search options”.
  • Click on “View” tab.
  • Now Tick the “Always show icons, never Thumbnails”.
  • Uncheck the “Display file icons on Thumbnails”.
  • Now click on OK.
  1. Turn Off Windows Update settings:
  • Open Control panel by clicking on Start menu.
  • Click on “System and Security”.
  • Click on “Window Updates”.
  • Click on “Change Settings”.
  • Now Click on Drop Down menu and select the “Never Check for Updates”.
  • Uncheck the “Recommended Updates” and “who can install updates” also.
  • Click on OK.
  1. Turn Off Windows Firewall settings:
  • Open Control panel by clicking on Start menu.
  • Click on “System and Security”.
  • Click on “Window Firewall”.
  • Click on “Change Notification settings”.
  • Now Circle on “Turn off Windows Firewall” in Home or Work tab.
  • Also Circle on “Turn off Windows Firewall” in Public Network Location settings.
